Hypnotherapy for Women

…a conversation to create your best life!

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of creative, focused attention and purposeful communication. Our ability to enter this unique state of consciousness opens the door to countless possibilities for healing, self-exploration and change. Even though it is 100% natural and normal, it remains one of the most fascinating experiences of the human mind.

Hypnosis is a natural and safe state of mind. It has been recognized by the American Medical Association and used in the field of medicine since 1958.

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to create a person’s desired changes in health, thinking, feelings, beliefs or behavior.

We naturally go in and out a hypnotic state throughout our day.

Have you ever watched a movie and jumped during a scary part or cried at a sad scene? Does your mouth water just thinking of some delicious food? Have you driven your car safely somewhere familiar and didn’t remember how you got there? Have you been so immerse in reading a book that you don’t hear what’s going on around you? Those are all common examples of a hypnotic state or trance state.

Trance state is normal activity of a normal mind, the conscious part of your mind becomes distracted or deeply focused, allowing the subconscious part of the mind to be accessible.

It’s estimated that our subconscious is controlling our actions well over 90% of the time!

It’s estimated that our subconscious is controlling our actions well over 90% of the time

The most important fact to remember is that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and all healing is self-healing.

My job is to be your guide, your partner in healing. I create a comfortable, nurturing space where you access Your True Self, the transformative power that already exists within you, to create your best life.

This is one of my favorite definitions of hypnosis: “Hypnosis is purposeful communication utilizing connection, credibility and effective language to get the desired response from the subconscious.” ~Dr. Jon Connelly founder of Rapid Trauma Resolution

Most people’s information about hypnosis comes from the movies or stage shows. I won’t dangle a watch in front of you or make you stand on your head or quack like a duck… unless you really want to!

What can I expect in a hypnosis session?

A session begins by defining your vision and goals for working together. I’ll explain how the mind works and we’ll identify your areas of strength. We’ll work together to update your mind and create space for wisdom, growth, and transformation.

Your thoughts, feelings and behavior align to work in your benefit.

Sessions are uplifting and solution-focused. You will gain a fresh perspective to facilitate rapid, positive, long lasting change.

Does hypnosis really work?

Yes. Hypnosis is a well-researched and powerful modality that helps eliminate negative habits and fears, boost confidence, reduce stress, enhance overall well-being, and promote healing.

The following success rates were reported in *Psychotherapy, the journal of the American Psychiatric Association:

Hypnotherapy: 93% Recovery after 6 sessions

Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions

Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions

The Mayo Clinic has proven the effectiveness of hypnotherapy in multiple studies on pain control, pre-surgical anxiety, menopausal symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

In the 1950’s both the American Medical Association and the British Medical Association accepted the therapeutic use of hypnotherapy.

Can I be hypnotized?

Yes. Since hypnosis is a natural, normal state, everyone has a natural ability to respond to hypnosis. The quality of response varies from individual to individual, and moment to moment. When the body relaxes, the whole system can function more easily. It’s my job to be a good guide for you as we partner together.

Can I be made to do something against my will?

No. In hypnosis, you are always in control. You cannot be forced or coerced into doing something that is against your personal and ethical beliefs. While in hypnosis, you have a greater awareness of self. Hypnosis allows you to be more focused, less distracted and more skillful in using your own mental abilities constructively. In this way, you can achieve more of your goals, and consequently, achieve more control of your personal comfort, health, and well-being. The ‘control’ misconception appears to originate from stage hypnosis which actually involves people doing what they want to be doing in a social agreement to be entertaining.

Will I have to relive past traumatic memories?

No. Actually reliving traumatic experiences can be more damaging than healing. The brain does not register the difference between what is happening now and what we are thinking about. It responds in the same way to the thought about the event as to the event.

Hypnosis can be used to uncover repressed memories, but hypnosis itself does not, by default, bring them to the surface. Your subconscious mind will never show you anything that you are not ready to handle, and such memories do not surface without such an intention.

Can I get stuck in a hypnotic state?

No. Although some people wish they could! You can come out of hypnosis at any time you want. You can’t get stuck in hypnosis any more than you can get stuck in natural sleep.

How many sessions will I need?

Each person and situation is different. The general answer however, would be that the process I use typically helps you achieve your desired results in 3 to 6 sessions. Some issues can be resolved quickly while others require more sessions. I will work with you in a timely manner to best serve your needs.

You will feel a shift from the very first session.

Please note that I do not provide counseling and I do not diagnose or treat mental illness.

What My Clients are Experiencing

After two sessions with Evelyn, I was able to deliver naturally and it was a beautiful experience. I also had no trouble with any of the needles! I was able to have an IV and I received multiple shots and a blood draw all without being affected at all! Thank you so much for all of your help! I couldn’t have done it without you! What a blessing to be free of my phobia! I have to go get a flu shot and I am not nervous at all! It’s such a blessing to be free from something I thought I would have to deal with all of my life. Thank You! -Holly[This is a beautiful example of the power of Hypnotherapy. This mama was referred to me at the end of her pregnancy. We had two Facetime sessions to address her concerns about giving birth and a phobia of medical needles. She has been experiencing this intense phobia for most of her life, causing her to faint at the sight of medical needles. -Evelyn Ojeda-Fox, Hypnotherapist ]

Just wanted to say thank you to Evelyn for guiding me through hypnosis and CST to trust my body and self in making the decision to trial of labor for a VBAC. At 25 weeks I changed practices to a supportive one, and successfully had a VBAC baby on May 21 2018. and it was AMAZING!! xoxo – Somer

Where do I even begin? This place is a life saver. I recently lost my baby and was told that this was a great place to start in finding help. It truly has been a great place. If anyone is suffering from grief, anxiety, depression, etc…. try Transformational Mentoring!!!! If I could become trained in this method and offer it to people, I would- because it works THAT WELL. -Christina

Evelyn you are truly gifted at what you do. I feel better than I have in a long time. I feel good about the future and where I’m headed. Thank you for the transformation that happened today. If anyone needs clarity, healing from trauma, hypnotherapy, or any other services she offers I highly recommend you go see her. She does amazing work with birth trauma too. -Kat

Evelyn was invaluable in preparing me both physically and emotionally for the birth of my second child. As my estimated due date approached, my baby was in a breech position. This meant that I had to transfer from the care of home birth midwives that I knew and trusted to that of an out-of-state OB who was a stranger to me and caught babies in a hospital. I was terrified. I had two sessions with Evelyn that consisted of hypnosis and craniosacral therapy. She helped me to release a huge amount of trauma and fear in just the first visit. I left feeling empowered that, no matter where or how I birthed, I was capable of effectively advocating for myself and my child. I felt completely heard and supported in a way that I had never before experienced. Two days before I was set to leave town to go under the care of the OB, I had my second session with Evelyn. It was during this session that I was able to connect with my baby in a way that I had never imagined. As crazy as it sounds, during the session I suddenly felt as if I was transported into my womb with my baby and showed her the head down position that would allow us to have a home birth. Much to my disappointment, however, baby remained breech. It was two days later, at 38 weeks gestation, as my husband drove us out of town to await the hospital birth of our baby, that I fell into a light sleep. As I drifted in and out of awareness, I felt as though I was in the hypnosis session with Evelyn, again showing my baby the head down position that he/ she needed to turn to in order to remain under the care of our midwives. When I woke up, baby had turned head down! Much to my delight, this was confirmed via ultrasound the next day. We quickly went back home where I gave birth a week later. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude for the role Evelyn played in my pregnancy and birth. -N.

I was somewhat skeptical before going, but it was really, well, transformative. I have been able to release so much of the trauma I was carrying and move forward with a very healing second birth. I am so thankful to Evelyn. She is absolutely a miracle worker. -Kelly M.

I was able to work through some past events in just 3 loving sessions. Her work is one of a kind and TOTALLY different and incredibly simple and loving (no digging through/re-living painful past traumas, no figuring out “why”, etc.). It’s beautiful, loving and healing. -Blair
