A Proven Way to Improve Your Relationships
A few years ago I started practicing a wonderful mantra meditation that has truly changed me.
I understand that my thoughts affect my reality, relationships and health. Sometimes my mind gets busy thinking about another person. Then my mind wants to go to the story that lives in my head about that person. What s/he said, how I responded. What I said and didn’t say, what I thought s/he meant… And down a dark tunnel I go. All by myself.
This meditation breaks the cycle and stops the train on it’s tracks! Whenever I catch my mind becoming judgmental about another person, I stop, take a breath, and say:
[say person’s name] Let Peace extend from my mind to yours.
[repeat name] Let Love extend from my heart to yours.
That’s it! I do this while driving, at stop lights, doing dishes, whenever my mind idles into criticizing or judging another person. Often when I’m doing this meditation, other people’s names come into my awareness. They quickly get added to the blessing. I figure there is always a reason for someone to pop into my mind!
Besides changing my energy on the spot, this blessing sends ripples of Peace and Love throughout the Space that surrounds and connects us all.
Another benefit of doing this meditation is that it changes the way the brain is making connections. By interrupting a mind pattern the brain has the opportunity to create new neuro-networks. That’s because “nerve cells that fire together, wire together.” As we interrupt old thought patters, new thought patterns are created. That is how we “change or minds”… and our lives.
I have unquestionable personal evidence that this works!! Give it a try and watch your Energy shift, old thought patterns dissipate and your relationships change.
